DRY EYE

| FEATURED GUEST SPEAKERS |

DRY EYE AFFECTS approximately 10 to 20% of people in the u.S.

Patients diagnosed with dry eye suffer from regular irritation to the ocular surface, resulting in discomfort and corresponding vision problems

What is Dry Eye?

Dry eye is formally defined as the loss of homeostasis of the tear film, creating inadequate tears that prevent the eye from proper lubrication. This condition can lead to inflammation and damage to the ocular surface (includes the cornea, conjunctiva, lacrimal, and meibomian glands). Symptoms generally manifest as irritation and/or itching, red eyes, blurry vision and other forms of ocular discomfort. Certain environmental conditions may trigger dry eye symptoms. Lifestyle changes, eye drops, and hydration can be used to control dry eye. (which is not a life-threatening disease)
